Preventive Dentistry

Treatment is important, but prevention is even more important. Unfortunately, because of the limits of dental medicine, we cannot say that after a one-time treatment the teeth will no longer become decayed or suffer periodontal disease. It is very important to be mindful of early detection and prevention by having regular dental examinations at the dentist. a4

Pediatric Dentistry (Children)

We recommend regular fluorine coating because newly grown teeth can easily decay. In Japan, fluorine application is made at the health check-up for one and a half years old children and three years old children, but we consider applying fluorine at the time the tooth is grown to be preventive dentistry. At our dental clinic, we also make records about check-up results in the dental check-up/maternal and child health handbook. a5

Periodontal Disease Treatment

It is said that more than 60% of the causes of tooth lost in adults is due to periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is an infection caused by bacterium that has settled in the grooves between the teeth and gums (Periodontal pocket), but it is possible to prevent and get treatment by having regular dental check-ups and removing tartar. For periodontal disease treatment, dentist Dr. Motomi recommends having dental cleaning every 3-6 months. a6

Tooth Decay Treament

Tooth decay is one of the typical tooth diseases. Tooth decay occurs when bacteria called Streptococcus Mutans, which produces acid from sugar, causes the surface of the tooth to melt. Then, when the tooth decay progresses and reaches the center of tooth, it will lead to serious diseases such as pulpitis. At our dental clinic we focus on prevention along with treatment. a7
